Today Matua Shane showed the girls in the senior performance group some basic moves for the poi. Even those who were very focused learners. Ka pai girls.

Kapa Haka Week 1 Term 2018

Today we had our first session of kapa haka with Matua Shane and Whaea Yvonne. As you can see from the video, the children really sounded great.

The senior performance group had only had 2 sessions on their new waiata and it was incredibly moving to hear them sing it. So very powerful! Ka pai tamariki.

The junior performance group had their session with Whaea Yvonne after the whole school session and had a lot of fun practicing their waiata.

Kamo Kombo Knight Performance!

Last term our Kapa Haka Performance Group performed at the Kamo Kombo Knight. We are very proud of the Kapa Haka Group as they were amazing performers. They practiced daily and focused on their areas of need. Making sure they were perfect and ready for the performance. The Kapa Haka team had a great night and enjoyed performing. We can't wait for our next performance.

Our 2017 Kapa Haka Preformance Group

 Kia ora and welcome back to Term 2, 2017. We have had a great start to this term, Matua Shane has been teaching us about how to perform a haka pōwhiri. The girls have been learning the poi while the boys have been learning the haka. This has been our focus for the last few weeks, preparing us for a pōwhiri.
